About O9i

A small, independent reading room for meditation, prayer, and the world's spiritual traditions.

O9i began as a personal note-taking habit — a place to write down what actually helped during difficult, distracted years, and what turned out to be noise. Over time those notes became articles, the articles found readers, and the reading room you're standing in now took shape.

We are not affiliated with any single religion, denomination, or teacher. O9i writes about meditation, prayer, world faith traditions, and the everyday discipline of trying to live a little more kindly and a little less reactively. Some readers come from a specific tradition and want it explained well. Others don't practice anything formal and are simply curious. Both are welcome here.

What we believe about this work

We hold three principles close when we write:

How the site is funded

O9i is supported by display advertising, shown in clearly marked spaces throughout the site. Advertising lets us keep every article free to read, with no paywall and no account required. We don't accept sponsored placements that would let a company or organization influence the substance of an article.

A note on what this site is not

O9i is a publisher, not a place of worship, a counseling service, or a substitute for guidance from a qualified religious leader, therapist, or physician. If you are navigating a personal crisis of faith, grief, or mental health, please see our Disclaimer for where to turn — we're glad to be part of your reading, but we're not a replacement for the people in your actual life.
